IICF's National Week of Giving

IICF's National Week of Giving

In the wake of recent hurricanes in the US, it is not unreasonable to think about protecting yourself against risk – the specific services that insurance companies provide. Insurance companies are also very dedicated to supporting communities. In our community, they have a long history of offering generous financial and volunteer support to Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia.

This week, October 8-15, is the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (“IICF”) National Week of Giving, an annual event to bring the entire industry together to work for the common good. Addressing the industry’s philanthropic responsibility, IICF encourages volunteerism across the nation, recognizing a greater community impact through industry collaboration.

Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia has long-standing partnerships with many insurance companies that support the need for affordable housing as volunteers, donors, and sponsors. For IICF’s National Week of Giving, volunteers from Chubb, Zurich North America, and Philadelphia Insurance Company will lend their time to various Habitat projects at the ReStore and Diamond Park.

“Zurich Philadelphia is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Habitat for Humanity on our fourth build day this year and even more so during the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation Week of Giving,” said Thomas J. Trullinger, Area Executive, Mid-Atlantic at Zurich. “Habitat for Humanity is one of Zurich North America’s Core Charities and we are proud to partner with Habitat as they strive to build more Resilient Communities in Philadelphia and across the nation.”

In the past three years, insurance partners of Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia have contributed more than $100,000 to build decent and affordable housing, minimizing risk for our families and helping homeowners achieve strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter. With our thanks we acknowledge all of our insurance partners who help to build our communities during the Week of Giving and throughout the year:
